Plant Engineer

D3 Glass, located in Fort Myers, FL, is seeking a Plant Engineer to head up its heavy glass fabrication operation.  This is an opportunity to develop and implement a plant engineering program in a rapidly expanding vertically integrated business. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Production
  • Manage Plant Maintenance Program
  • Oversite of manufacturing processes
  • Assist maintenance with troubleshooting issues to keep machinery running properly
  • Tool and equipment ware monitoring and analysis
  • Evaluate processes to maintain and improve quality.
  • Evaluate process efficiency and recommend changes.
  • Determine production standards
  • Compliance with industry standards
• Training
  • Work with production supervisor to train operators on proper procedures for running machinery
  • Responsible for Skill Based Pay (SBP) training on all production machinery in classroom and on-floor. Will administrate test to reinforce learning and understand the capabilities of the operators
  • Organize curriculum for teaching associates SBP requirements from manufactures machine manuals.
• Special Projects
  • Assistance with special projects as requested by management
  • New equipment proposals.
• Safety Equipment Training and Procedures.
  • Assistance with safety programs and best practices to ensure safety on factory floor
  • Benchmarks required to manage safety program.
  • Safety equipment

We are in the process of building a new 60,000 sq/ft headquarters and state of the art production facility in Fort Myers, Fl.  This location will become the new headquarters of D3 Glass and its sister company MY Shower Door.

The ideal candidate will have an engineering degree in mechanical, industrial, or equivalent.
